Lewis Aptekar: Extensive Clinical Experience





During his career, former San Jose State professor Lewis Aptekar has obtained extensive experience in the capacity of licensed psychologist. His clinical experience is considerable, and includes work at the U.S. State Department (1981-1982), the La Tuna Federal Penitentiary (1984-1985), Fort Bliss (1985-1986), the Texas Tech University School of Medicine (1985-1986), UNICEF (2000-2001) and more. Aptekar recently resigned his position from San Jose University’s counselor education department, and is now enjoying retirement.

Lewis Aptekar: Clinical Experiences of Note

Lewis Aptekar – who is now resigned from his position in San Jose State University's counselor education – has worked in the field of clinical psychology for more than 20 years. During that span, Dr. Aptekar has worked in a number of roles. These include Expert Reviewer with the California Board of Psychology (2001); Eligible Psychologist within a California clinical correctional facility (2000-2010); and Child Psychologist with the San Benito County Mental Health organization (2006-2010).
